From Stinson's to Tiger Moths, Cherokees to Cubs, the display pilots showed us why they are the best of the best. Around a thousand spectators turned up to the beautiful Berkshire airfield to celebrate their members day. At White Waltham there are all kinds of pilots from Airline Pilots to Student pilots, Acrobatic enthusiasts to old Warbird Pilots and they gave the spectators a trip down aviations history and majesty.
Apart from the close flying displays of the de Havilland Tiger Moths we witnessed some exhilarating flybys from the flying club displays teams in their Slingsby Fireflys. And with a gusting 15 knot wind the flying looked a bit precarious at times!
The food on offer from Flying Food was top class with some excellent lunches on offer and a steady flow of tea and coffee kept the cold at bay!
At Off the Wall Photography and Printing we had the opportunity to design some promotional items at the show and first and foremost was a unique t-shirt design for Members day. WLAC were keen to keep the design quite retro and showing off the Bi-Planes which adorn the taxiways of the airfield. We added the "Born to Fly" and the idea literally took off!
All in all we had a great day, pilots young and old swapping stories of aviation and derring-do! With some fabulous flying demonstrations and unique flying machines which epitomises the yesteryears of European Aviation!
